Tovar's Hit Streak Reaches 20 Games Wednesday, August 30th , 2062 The streak is alive and well -- at least for today. Zach Tovar did it again, bashing 1 hit in the contest at Orlando Stadium today. For the last 20 games in a row, the 18-year-old shortstop has collected at least one hit. His efforts helped the Orlando Oceanics beat the Jacksonville Rockies 7-5 today. "I'm happy I kept the streak going," Tovar told a standing-room-only crowd of reporters gathered in the Orlando clubhouse. "Honestly though, I'm looking forward to going home and not thinking about this for the rest of the day." Zach Tovar singled in the 2nd, flied out in the 4th, grounded out in the 5th and grounded out in the 8th. Looking at his season stats, Tovar has compiled a .378 batting average and a .494 on-base percentage, while hitting 12 home runs and driving in 133 runs. |
