Kimpel Clobbers 3 HR Against Bulldogs Thursday, July 2nd , 2065 Players don't hit three home runs in a game very often and when they do, it is something to celebrate. After today, Erik Kimpel can celebrate. The Kissimmee Rage second baseman powered three into the stands at Rage Field today against the Punta Gorda Bulldogs. "It's rare that you actually try to hit a home run," Kimpel told reporters after the game. "Most of the time you fail, if you really try to hit one. But today, I was really trying on that last one." In all, he was 4-for-5 as the Rage toppled Punta Gorda by a score of 15-2, knocking in 7 runs and scoring 4 times. "He is blessed with a natural home run swing," Kissimmee manager said. "He gets the ball up in the air." Erik Kimpel hit a solo-shot off Pedro Estevez in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 6th, hit a two-run home run off Alex Palacios in the 7th and hit a GRAND SLAM off Jim Pohl in the 8th. On the year Kimpel has hit .266 with 21 home runs, 71 RBIs and scored 62 runs. |
