League Punishes Pair for Fighting Saturday, July 18th , 2065 If there wasn't a history between Alex Corona of Sarasota and Lupe Romero of Gainesville, then there is one now. The incident between the two sparked a bench-clearing scrum with those two being the center of attention. Now they will miss 3 and 7 games respectively as a result of their actions. The league office announced their suspensions today. "We're both really competitive," Corona said later, "and sometimes things go a little too far because of it." Corona is currently hitting at a .259 pace with 19 home runs and 54 RBIs. So far this season Romero has compiled a 2-5 record with a 8.21 ERA. |
