Gibbons Boosts Hit Streak to 20 Games Thursday, July 9th , 2071 Jim Gibbons, third baseman for the Miami Aces, ran his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games with 3 hits in his club's 14-8 victory over the Jacksonville Rockies at Miami Grounds. "I don't really know why it's even happening," he said with a grin after the game. "So asking me how long I can keep it up is kind of irrelevant. It'll end when it ends." Jim Gibbons hit a three-run double in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, doubled in the 4th, singled in the 7th and grounded out in the 8th. This year, Gibbons is batting .383 with 62 hits, 13 home runs, 63 RBIs, 53 walks, .545 OBP and has scored 53 runs. |
