Monday, October 20th , 2042
He may have less experience than most of his Liberty League peers, but that didn't slow Rusty Banks down at all in 2042.
At the age of 21, the Gainesville first baseman has been named the winner of the East Most Valuable Hitter.
He had a .392 batting average and a .491 on-base percentage this year. In 129 games he piled up 187 hits, 37 doubles, no triples, 31 home runs, 142 RBIs and 121 runs scored.
"I'm blown away by the season I was able to put together," he said. "I'm looking forward to trying to do it all again next year."
He received 16 first place votes out of a possible 20. Tommy Richardson of the Bradenton Bucs finished second in voting, while Ken Fox of the Gainesville Gators finished third.
